Effects & Advantages of the Hijama

The practise of wearing a hijab is one of the Prophet Muhammad's Sunnahs, and it is extensively recounted in a large body of reliable ahadith. Numerous narrations both highly advise and urge its practise. Islamic prophetic medicine incorporates the wearing of a hijab as a fundamental component.

The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions frequently wore a hijab for the treatment of a variety of illnesses as well as a method of body maintenance and health enhancement.

A safe, non-invasive, and affordable method of treating and preventing numerous ailments is hijama or cupping. The benefits of wearing a hijab extend far beyond the limited conditions for which it was used in China, including joint discomfort, lungs infections, colds, and diseases of the internal organs.

The Arabic term "hijama" implies "pulling out." It is now acknowledged as an alternate kind of treatment for various illnesses and physical ailments. The many advantages of wearing a hijab are also supported by contemporary medical science, which even recommends it for patients with several illnesses.

In this non-surgical process, the body's poisonous or "bad" blood is removed. To achieve this, certain "hijama spots" on the body are massaged. Blood is encouraged to build up at these predetermined locations before being removed using a small suction device. When tiny incisions are formed on the skin, the blood is made to collect on the skin's surface; it then drains from the incisions and is collected in a cup, where it is evacuated.

When should Hijama Therapy be used?

Hijama usage is advised to take place on the 'odd' days of the lunar calendar. Additionally, the days that are particularly designated are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. The 17th, 19th, and 21st days of the lunar calendar, provided that they fall on Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday, are the best Sunnah days for hijama therapy. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) highly discouraged wearing the hijab on Wednesdays and strongly advised against wearing it on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

As long as it is worn correctly, hijama has no negative side effects. It is also important to note that around 70% of diseases and ailments are brought on by the body's inability to circulate blood effectively. Additionally, when toxins and other pollutants continue to circulate in our blood, we become ill or our body organs cease to function properly. We do not heal from illnesses quickly until the blood or body's poisonous waste is cleaned out, and we are also more susceptible to additional illnesses or disorders. The best technique to remove toxic waste from the blood stream is to wear a hijab, which will inevitably lead to a healthy body that performs as it should. We must never lose sight of the fact that the Prophet SAW's very beneficial and advised Sunnah aids in the management of numerous illnesses, including infections, hypertension, circulatory disorders, pain, infertility, cancer, etc.

Importance of Hijama in the Divine Guidance

Instead of putting our words in favor of cupping, we must see the following ahadith that are enough to explain the importance of hijama.

“Indeed in hijama (cupping) there is a cure”.  – Saheeh Muslim

“Indeed, the best of remedies you have is hijama (cupping)”. – Saheeh Al Bukhari

“Hijama is the most helpful procedure for human beings to cure themselves”.– Saheeh Al Bukhari and Saheel Muslim

The importance of hijama in the divine guidance can further be stressed by the following words which were related to the Prophet SAW on the night of Israa (ascension to the heaven) by angles: “O Mohammed, order your ummah (people) with hijama (cupping)”.– Saheeh, Sunan Tirmidhi.

The Prophet Muhammad ?? ???? ???? ? ??? is reported to have had hijama perfromed on his head for migraine [Bukhari], on his foot after a sprain [Ibn Majah], on his neck [Abu Dawud], on his hip for hip pain [Abu Dawud] and between his shoulders for detoxification [Ahmed].

Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ?? ???? ???? ? ??? said: “I did not pass by an angel from the angels on the night journey except that they all said to me: Upon you is cupping (hijama), O Muhammad.”[Saheeh, Sunan ibn Majah]

“The best medicine with which you treat yourselves is cupping, or it is one of the best of your medicines.” Or“The treatment you can use is cupping.” [Bukhari: 5371]

“Cupping is the most helpful procedure for human beings to cure themselves.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger ?? ???? ???? ???? said“If there was something excellent to be used as a remedy then it is cupping (hijama).”  [Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan Ibn Majah]
